Compatibility:

This add-on works correctly in Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Google Chrome and Opera latest browser versions.

The add-on is compatible with CS-Cart and Multi-Vendor 3.0.x.- 4.2.4 versions.

  1. Download the installation package from the order page.
  2. Extract it to the temporary folder.
  3. Use the “installation instruction.txt” file for the following instruction.

"Blog" add-on settings

  1. Go to Administration → Add-ons → Blog → click settings.
  2. On the appeared page tick:
    • “Add Blog item to the top menu” checkbox. If this checkbox is checked the Blog item will be displayed at the top menu after the main Blog category’s creation. (valid for Multi-Vendor) For CS-Cart go to Administration → Stores → choose the necessary store → tick the “Add Blog item to the top menu” checkbox (at the end of the list).
    • "Add RSS functionality " in order that the store visitors can subscribe to receive Blog updates.
  3. Click the “Save” button.

Blog category creation

  1. In order to create a Blog category please go to Website → Content → click “Add Blog Category” button.
  2. On the appeared page specify the necessary fields and click the "Save" button.

Blog page creation

  1. Go to Website → Content → click the “Add Blog” button.
  2. On the appeared page you can see the following settings:
    • Parent category – here you can choose the category for your article.
    • Name – the name of the article.
    • Description – the article.
    • Short description – the article summary that will appear on the Blog category page. Usually it is the first paragraph of the article.
    • Author – the author of the article.
    • Status – If you choose the “Active” status the article will be displayed on the Blog page. If you choose the “Disabled” status the article will not be displayed.

How to create the block with Blog drop-down tree

  1. In the administration panel click Design → Blocks and choose the necessary location. Then it is necessary to add block "Pages" with the following settings:
    • Template - Dropdown vertical;
    • Filling - full tree;
    • Parent page - the root Blog category.
  2. Click the "Create" button.

How to display the newest blog posts in the block

1. Go to the administration panel Design → Blocks → choose the necessary location →.Create New Block → Pages.

2. On the appeared window you can see the following settings:

General tab:

  • Template – choose the "Blog" template.
  • Then click Settings opposite to Template and tick the necessary checkboxes:
    • Show/hide the "Read more" button.
    • Show/hide a statusbar.
    • Show/hide a short description.

On the “Content” tab choose the "newest blog posts" filling.

5. Click the “Create button”.
